According to the Sixth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, China's first hydrogen expansion 5-ton/day hydrogen liquefaction system was released in Beijing on September 25th. The system was jointly developed by the 101st Institute of the institute and Aerospace Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. On August 18th, it successfully produced liquid hydrogen, which is a breakthrough in China's large-scale preparation of liquid hydrogen.
This system has overcome five key core technologies, including the design of the hydrogen Claude cycle hydrogen liquefaction process, large-scale and efficient continuous positive and secondary hydrogen conversion heat exchange technology, high-speed air bearing hydrogen turbine expander, large-scale deep and low-temperature horizontal cold box partition integration process, and adaptive one key start stop control logic for variable operating conditions. During full operation, all process equipment runs stably, and the parameters of each node in the cold box are highly matched with the design parameters. All performance indicators are better than the design values, which is another milestone achievement in the field of hydrogen liquefaction after the successful development of the 2-ton/day helium expansion hydrogen liquefaction cold box in September 2021.
Liquid hydrogen is the main process route for achieving efficient storage and transportation of hydrogen energy. The hydrogen Claude refrigeration cycle hydrogen liquefaction process is the main process route for future large-scale hydrogen liquefaction systems. The successful operation of this system has enhanced the independent controllability of technology and equipment in China's liquid hydrogen industry production field, and is another important achievement in the innovation driven development of hydrogen energy applications.
